What is a Frenectomy?

A frenectomy is a procedure that releases the frenulum tissue using using many different methods. The most common areas released are the upper lip and tongue (more commonly known as a lip or tongue tie). This procedure helps to relieve symptoms in areas such as nursing, feeding, speech, sleep, and/or orthodontics.

About Dr. Lee

Dr. Jian Lee earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. During his time at the university, he was honored with the prestigious Humanitarian Award by the International College of Dentists in recognition of his altruistic attitude and dedicated service to the community.

Dr. Jian’s pursuit of excellence led him to specialized training at the University of Pennsylvania and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in Philadelphia, where he meticulously honed his skills in providing the highest level of dental care to children.

Committed to staying at the forefront of the field, Dr. Jian actively participates in workshops focused on advancements in clinical dentistry and pediatric management. This dedication ensures he remains updated on the latest minimally invasive technologies, enabling him to deliver cutting-edge treatments to his patients. He is deeply passionate about fostering preventive methods at home and a conservative approach to dentistry in the clinic, with a primary goal of instilling lifelong, healthy habits across all age groups.

About Dr. Irada

Dr. Irada is a Board-Certified Pediatric Dentist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Microbiology and Cell Science from the University of Florida and her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania, where she was a four-year Dean’s Scholar with dual honors in clinical dentistry and community oral health. She later completed her pediatric residency at the University of Florida’s NCEF Pediatric Dental Center in Naples.

Inspired by her own childhood dental experiences, Dr. Irada brings empathy, warmth, and a sense of fun to every patient visit. She emphasizes prevention and minimally invasive care, aiming to make dental visits positive and educational for kids and parents alike.

In addition to private practice, Dr. Irada supports children at the Lancaster Cleft Palate Clinic and mentors future pediatric dentists at the University of Pennsylvania. When she’s not in the clinic, she enjoys hiking, yoga, and recharging at home in Lancaster with her partner Ryan and their cat, Moxy.

She is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, and several Pennsylvania-based dental organizations.
